SwedenLynxer
One copy of Warbirds and one of Checkered Flag was just sold on E-bay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...3002200205&rd=1 and http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...3002199871&rd=1 Does anyone know something about these strange CD-boxes? Why have they Telegames name on them? Is this just as replacement for old missing boxes?
glitch
I don't believe either game was released in a CD case at any time (or any official Atari release for that matter). It is possible that Telegames is repackaging them if you order them from their site.
AtariX
Ya, I saw these a few days ago on ebay. I had never seen these Telegames re-releases of Atari Lynx games before. I thought that maybe it was part of the Raiden and Fat Bobby deal. Maybe Atari gave Telegames to pemision re-release other Lynx games under the Telegames label. Who knows, maybe these are new releases and Telegames just recieived permision from Infogrames to re-release some Lynx games. Does anyone know? Songbird
It's my understanding that Telegames received permission to reproduce some games before Atari was completely sold off to Hasbro a couple of years back. I've seen these games at their booth in Vegas at CGE.
cx2k
Actually from my discussions with terry, I believe Telegames actually owns the rights to these titles. +davidcalgary29
Here's a response from Telegames, which essentially reiterates a few earlier posts in this thread: Warbirds, Casino, and Checkered Flag were licensed from Atari before they sold to Hasbro. All non-licensed Atari-brand Lynx products are in original boxes. We only sell new products.
SwedenLynxer
Thanks for the info about the status of Warbirds and Checkered Flag. But I supose Telegames do own the rights to at least some more Atarigames apart from Hyperdrome. I remember a few years ago Telegames promised they wolud release Rolling Thunder the same way they did with Hyperdrome. But I guess Hyperdrome did not sell well enough I wonder how many more new games it would be posible for Telegames to release, technically speaking, if they just had the will to do so

SwedenLynxer
Maybe they responded a bit TO fast. No doubt this game was developed. I do not think screenshots like these are fake. http://www.atariage.com/catalog_page.html?...¤tPage=24 But the game of course may not have been completed. Justin42
Dunno, there's always been something about the Rolling Thunder shots that looked fake to me (even in the original ad, which I have around here somewhere). The graphics look very different to "normal" Lynx games, with all the horizontal lines and such. The main character's graphics look too detailed for it's size. (hard to see in the webpage, easier to see in the full catalog) Plus, it looks very little like the RT arcade game. Methinks it looks like some concept shots made early in the project and never got farther...
goatdan
Looks to me like the NES version of Rolling Thunder from Tengen... But who knows. From what I remember of Hydra (the reason I bought a Lynx in the first place) was that it didn't look that good either...
