Miss 2600 Posted August 7, 2012 Share Posted August 7, 2012 Team Antarctica has been hit by blizzards and trapped in its tent for days (it's winter right now in the Southern Hemisphere, you know). Probably the other members of the team are confined to their tents as well as we haven't heard from them. Getting a bit worried, actually. We may need to send out search parties once the weather clears. Funny, after having no problem with the Long Jump in Track And Field, all of a sudden Team Antarctica, can't even get close to the necessary score to advance. The deep snow is definitely taking its toll. The weather cleared enough for a soccer game, though. Team Antarctica upped its score differential slightly with a 9-0 victory. The score was 8-0 at half time but a storm came in making it hard to see the field and the team could only manage a single goal in the second half. I don't know if the game gets tougher, I get tired, or playing in the opposite direction throws me off. I'm usually on the defensive the whole second half. I also do so much better in the first half than the second. The second half is all about trying to hold onto the shutout. This game needs a pause button, it's a real workout. I had another game where I scored 4 goals (to none) and was thinking my final score would be pretty good. My first goal was in less than 10 seconds!
