babble
Hi, I was wondering if anybody knew any tricks to remove scuffs and scratches from the plastic screen cover (Lynx II)? I've got a scuff mark which shimmers a bit while playing on one of my Lynx's - and have just tried to sand it down with a mild abrasive (toothpaste). Unfortunately, while this works a treat on my watch (which is plexi-glass), the Lynx's screen seems too soft and the scuff mark has become mildly larger. I was wondering if anyone has had any success, perhaps by adding another layer to the surface, such as a lacquer - perhaps an auto-scratch remover or clear nail vanish? Or any other ideas? Is it a major operation to just replace the transparent plastic screen cover? Thanks in advance, babble
+Mitch
I've heard that car wax works. I haven't tried it myself, though. Also, plastic scratch remover should work. Mitch http://atari7800.atari.org
TheBizDude
The best thing for the screen is Eagle One plastic polish. Replacing the screen is no big deal either. You can buy one online, I've seen them on a few different sites. Here's one on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...8&category=3537
RJ
I recently saw a scratch repair "kit" by Memorex which has a small bottle of "cleaning fluid" (which may be water) & a tube of solution which is supposed to repair scratches on screens as well as CDs/DVDs. I didn't buy it & have never used it but it cost around $10.
