Difficulty switches

I am certain this has been done a million tmes on here, but the search results I got had about a million threads and I can't be bothered to look through all that.

 

What are the 2600 difficulty switch equivalent positions on the 7800? Is it left for A, right for B, or the opposite? Are both switches the same, or is one right for A the other left for A? And why the heck didn't they label them? I rarely use the 7800 for 2600 games where the switches matter, but am going to join the 2600 HSC, so I need to know.

But you just need to test it in a game. For Plaque Attack start the game and keep the fire button pressed and see if it's firing faster or not. In B(easy) you're gonna fire faster than in A position.

Difficulty "b" (easy) is left for both switches.

 

My way of testing when I forget is to put in the Breakout cartridge. The paddle is visibly smaller on difficulty "a" setting, so I can tell right away.
