OutlawTorn71
Hey guys, I am in the market for a Sega CD and have been reading up as much as I can but I cannot decide which one to buy, and I am looking for some input Quick history - I had a CDX "back in the day" and loved it, I actually traded it for a Pontiac Fiero !! (that's another story ) Loved the games and I am tired of the emulators and want to get another console. The CD1 seems to have some tray issues, but I like the look with my 16bit Genesis, but the CD2 may be more reliable with only minor eye issues ??? I cant justify the expense of CDX for my casual gaming so that's out, and I think the 32X just looks dumb on it ! Looking forward to some discussion OT71
Austin
In your situation, the Model 2 looks like your best bet.
the.golden.ax
Yeah, the model 2 would be the best value, and the tray is a big downer on the model 1. I've got both on hand and for sale if you are interested. I also love trades.
CGQuarterly
I have a model 1, and would never trade it for a model 2, but I have had to adjust the tray along the way. Still, it's so much more awesome looking than the model 2. No question that the 2 is more reliable, though. Chris
Austin
To the OP, something else to keep in mind, I wouldn't buy a Model 1 unless you have a Model 1 Genesis. Having a Model 2 Genesis on top of a Model 1 Sega CD looks goofy.
OutlawTorn71
Thanks for the info, I have a Model 1 Genesis and I am leaning towards getting a Model 1 CD unit, mainly because of looks and the slightly smaller footprint It seems the tray issues aren't to hard to fix .... And Ax... you have a PM
