RobertT
Hi there I have a newb question. I live in Other Parts of The World (ie, not USA). My question is about the universality of the Intellivoice module, or otherwise. If I got my hands on an Intellivoice module from the US, could I happily plug it into my Other Parts of the World Intellivision without any issues? Or does the Intellivoice module have the same PAL/NTSC - 110V/220V issues that plague worldwide gaming? Thanks in advance for any help on this one. As far as I know, the Intellivoice module takes its power and TV signal from the Master Component, donut should be universal. Perhaps someone with definitive knowledge can chime in? Intellivisioner
IntelliVoice should work with any Master Component. I regularly use my PAL system with an US IntelliVoice module and had no problems at all.
intvnut
Yep, it should work with any Intellivision unit, as it draws its power from the console, not the wall. It also has its own oscillator, so it's not sensitive to the 4MHz vs. 3.579545MHz difference between PAL and NTSC units. Flipside, though: the relative pitch of sound effects/music vs. voice will differ, as the PSGs are tied to the 4MHz vs. 3.579545MHz clocks. Thankfully, no games try to sing. A singing game ... that would be awesome! That should be made and marketed as the first singing Intellivision game! Hello Commander .. Intymike
hm... Intellivision Singstar! As a matter of fact, Mattel sold only the US version of the IntelliVoice in Germany. They even didn´t include german instructions (I didn´t found one so far). Edited October 18, 2012 by Intymike
