nickwj
Hi, I have just joined this group. My name is Nick. I use to do some prgraming when I was younger. Have found myself with some spare time and stumbled upon the batari basic and 2600 emulator. So I decided to have a go programing a quick game, just as an exercise to see if I could still program. The programing is a little sloppy as I had not plan and just kind of made the game up as I went along. Any way after a couple of nights work, attatched is a copy of the game. Its very basic. Shoot the alien score a point. Alien shoots you or crashes into you lose a point. Hit the border lose a poin Lose three lives game ends Mouse = up and down, left mouse buton fire. At Game Over page, press fire to play again. Couple of quick questions. Does anyone know who to control the scolling speed. Im using PFscroll for horizontal scrolling. The only way I could work out to slow the speed was to use a for-next loop. But would like to slow it down more? Also at the moment the scroll is like a Scooby-Doo cartooon and uses the same background over and over. Any tips on how toscroll more than one playfield at a time? Any help with the above would be appreciated. Cheers Nick.shootemup.bas

+Random Terrain
If you are using Visual batari Basic, the .bin file should be in a folder called bin in your project folder.

godzillajoe
It's not bad for a start but you can basically sit in one spot and hold down the fire button and never die. Still, I like the crazy speed. Make the enemies more random/interesting and you have something here worth playing.
+Random Terrain
Make the enemies more random/interesting and you have something here worth playing. Better not add randomness. That will make too many AtariAge members cry. They want their games to be the same every time they play.
