bomberpunk
I've taken a long break from coding after spending time on/off with my original MicroDungeon game (which I plan to finish very soon) and took a stab at recreating the Vic-20's BLITZ. I will admit that the game does not play exactly like the original; the plane never lands. Once you clear an area you start a new area with more buildings to destroy. The first level starts with 4 buildings and 2 are added each time (until a maximum of 16 appear). The game is randomized so there's a different layout every time. There are some neat features not seen in the original game. If you look at the first screenshot below, you'll see the game running as well as all the commands used in both the game and accessing the different new features There are simple additions, such as three different background colors to choose from. Most exciting is the Gamerfile, where various stats are recorded (see second screenshot below). I thought about adding an Achievements section, but I think that would be overkill for this very simple game. The game could not be compiled as an EXE due to my subpar coding skills, but there's a link to Qbasic 1.1 in this post as well if you don't have a copy. You will obviously need a Windows environment to try this out. Let me know what you think. Enjoy! Version Updates: v01062012 is the final version, complete with achievements and very minor tweaks. v01042012 has a completely reworked UI (a new menu system), a 4th theme, end-of-level height bonuses, and more! v01032012 includes two new stats (accuracy & average score) - not shown in above screenshot. older versions ----------------> v01042013 (19 KB) | v01032013 (14 KB) | SCROLL DOWN FOR FINAL VERSION!
