Pathetic things you did to play two-player games alone

...for example, I used to lean a book on the fire button of the second controller so I could play the airplane version of "Combat" alone.

 

I played a lot of M Network's Super Challenge Football solo, too - not sure how I managed.

 

Armor Ambush was difficult to play alone.

I tried using the paddles at the same time in Warlords and Indy 500 when I was a kid. Indy 500 must have been a very comedic scene. I had the other controller braced between some pillows or books and tried to use both paddles one in each hand. (Goofy)

 

I used to play Pele's soccer as well to see how many goals I could score, single player game obviously.

 

Combat was another (how many hits I would get)

I used to play Indy 500 ice racing alone too. I would tape the button down with scotch tape on both cpntrollers and try to steer with each hand. It was incredibly hard.

 

Ice racing is still my favorite racing game of all time.

Uh, Pele's Soccer does have a single player mode.  Was the computer a little too hard for you?  

Was there really a computer AI? Or just a random generator?

 

I could play this game with closed eyes and still win .

Here's one you can definitely file under the pathetic category. Formation flying with the Combat planes!!!!! ...Pull up beside the other jet, fall back, accelerate forward and line up on the other side, etc. Yes, I used to do this.
