BeerGnome
I have a magnavox brand composite monitor that was origianly sold for use with the 8 bit computers of the time. Ive had it since new might I add.. after years of use from everything froma gaming monitor to a display for television in the youth.. it has gone thru a lot.. she now has some burn in around the parameters of the srceen.. and a fadeing out issue. as in.. I can get about 15 minutes of picture out of it before the screen fades out to black. sometimes it might come back on its own after a few seconds.. then fade out again.. sometimes jostling it will make the picture come back.. but mostly.. I gotta turn it off and let it chill out for a bit.. then repeat the process. I'm assuming the CRT is weak with age, most likely the Electron gun is worn.. So.. I'm looking on further input on the matter.. and if any of y'all think I can get a TV repair shop to fix it.. or if anyone knows any one else that fixes these guys? I wanna use it as a gaming monitor again thanks in advance folks!
Rob Mitchell
Could be as minor as a loose connection .. Sounds like you are not familiar with TV repair .. so I will not advise. But these Magnavox/ Commodore monitors show up occasionally at the thrift stores for < $10 .. I have three.
