shaky
I like this version better than the nes version. I think it's a fun arcade port.

It's always better to ask these questions before purchasing, but I think you will be pleasantly surprised by this title. I enjoy it personally. IMHO, it is one of the better ports for the 7800 within the original library. Next time you are looking for lasting entertainment from the 7800, I suggest you purchase one of PacManPlus' homebrews. They are astounding!
fiddlepaddle
I spent an hour or two on it after I brought one home; that's more than most games I play.

desiv
I really like Xenophobe.. I saw a review on youtube for it that wasn't too great, so I wasn't sure.. But when I finally tried it, I had a lot of fun.. So, you never know till you try it; but I think it's a really fun game.. Enjoy! desiv
Shinju
If the game had POKEY for the music/SFX it would have been the best console port besides the Lynx version. NES just looked washed out but it had most of the key elements. I loved this game in the arcades I used to dump quarters in it like WOAH! You did good, this game is great! DracIsBack
When I was in early high school and this game was new, it was probably the one my friends played the most on the 7800 besides Ballblazer
mbd30
Me and my friends loved the original arcade game back in the day. It's arcade action, not a serious adventure game comparable to "Flashback". I never played the 7800 version. It's too bad that it never got a 16-bit console port, although Wikipedia says that it was ported to the Amiga and Atari ST. It's one of those "in between" games such as the original "Shinobi" and "Rastan" that was too advanced for the 8-bit console generation, but then never ported in the subsequent generation. Classic Pac
Xenophobe on the 7800 is a great game.
RJ
They simplified the controls for the 7800; the arcade controls (& the PS2 version) made it not fun & too complicated. It's also fun w/ 2 player co-op.
Classic Pac
I can agree with that I have a version for my PSP, and I have the same problem.
thursday83
Xenophobe rocks on the 7800. Controls, graphics, everything is awesome. Never beat it though. Can you actually beat the game on the 7800 version?
NIKON
Xenophobe rocks on the 7800. Controls, graphics, everything is awesome. Never beat it though. Can you actually beat the game on the 7800 version? Like most 7800 games.. there is no "ending" or final boss to beat ..it just keeps going until you run out of health Edited February 23, 2013 by NIKON
Stun Runner 87
Most. 8 bit atari games are all about the scores an not levels or final bosses anyway.
Trip_Cannon
There are some elements missing from the arcade version that made it into others... character selection, robot that delivered items, subtle animations that made the arcade version more charming, etc.. The game gets more repetitive faster on the 7800 than the arcade but it's still a fun game..
