Is there a list of bugs in SmartBasic and what is the latest version?

The best reference to use for anything releated to SmartBASIC are the Nibbles & Bits and N.I.A.D. Newsltter PDFs that are available on jblenkle's website. There is a ton of great information available in these old newsletter issues that we made available.

The offically released version of SmartBASIC that came with each and every ADAM system is referred to as SmartBASIC v1.0 and there were quite a lot of "how could they have missed that" bugs. Fortunately, pretty much all of them are fixable by POKEing values into certain locations in order to correct the issue. BTW, the latest revision of SB v1.0 is 79 and you can check your copy by typing:

PRINT PEEK(260) at the comman prompt.

There was also an unofficial version of SmartBASIC released to the Users Groups by Coleco and it is referred to as SmartBASIC II or v2.0. The nearly complete version offered some major updates like access to a 64K Memory Expander for added program space (went from around 25K all the way up to 90K) by using the new command HIMEM, sequential file storage was corrected, a phlethora of bugs in v1.0 were corrected and a new E.O.S. (rev. 7 compared to rev. 5 that is on the prom chip inside the ADAM) was provided that loads prior to SB v2.0. There are LOTS of compatibility issues between v1.0 and v2.0 for obvious reasons and IIRC all the graphic tables changed as well.

Here is a list of the SB v1.0 POKES, PEEKS and CALL as well as some very nice enhanced versions of SB v1.0 and then SB v2.0. There are SmartWRITER text files that further explain things.
