+Cafeman
http://cafeman.www9.50megs.com/atari/5200d...offiKopter.html I estimate that Koffi: Yellow Kopter is 50% done. The engine seems to work fine so far. I still have work to do in the area of falling raindrops (missiles), an on-screen water indicator, and designing a few more stages, but I feel I know how to do these things and they shouldn't take as long to do as the first half of the game took. The biggest unknown right now for me: sound and music. I have downloaded and bookmarked several places to read up on this, from the AtariArchives to stuff Heaven mentioned to OldGuru's examples. Koffi has absolutely no sound yet, and I'm sure my first attempts at FX will suck, so I'll need to re-do them over & over until I learn what sounds good. I wanted to get a few more things done and then release a limited ROM of koffi to everyone here; however, I still don't quite feel right about one or two things, and it looks like this is the farthest I'll get for this month. Anyway, please check out the update posted above! Man, this "koffi" project is dragging on longer than I figured! I think Koffi will be done by May 2002. I THINK. Adrian M
YAY!!! It's good to know things are progressing for you! I've been reading up on this game's progress and I can't wait to get a finished copy to play in my actual 5200!! Good luck on the other 50% of development! OldGuru
Looks promissing to me! Can't wait to play it. BTW: Are you going to have a demo ready for PhillyClassic? OldGuru.
+Cafeman
Glad you guys like it so far! @OldGuru: yes, I will bring a cartridge version of Koffi to Philly Classic. However, I'm not sure how & where I'll show it; I'm hoping I'll know somebody there with a 5200 setup & just ask around. Any suggestions? I didn't get a table or anything. Charlie_
Cafeman, Are you going to the Nava meeting in NJ this weekend? I was hoping you'd have a version on a cart for us to play. :-) Charlie
+Cafeman
I'm not going, sorry. If you are going to Philly Classic, I'll have a cart of Koffi there. If AlanD or OldGuru want to bring it along, they can contact me before the show (those 2 can burn eproms and I think they both might be going). +Cafeman
Okay, it appears that Koffi will indeed be making an appearance at the NAVA meeting. Hope you enjoy it but remember its early & not 100% functional yet.
