spasz
Hey everyone, I found some local hardware. What I am trying to do is use my Atari to make the music for my retro inspired animated shorts. I am totally new to this Midi art form. I am interested to hear if you guys have any sugestions for midi hardware and software to get this job done. Here's what I have so far. Atari 4160ste 4meg Atari st520 1meg/at-speed boxed Cu-base. Band in a box. Thanx so much for any suggestions! ~S

STuck
I'm waiting for my UltraSaTan so I can run cuBase notator, but my set up will be using a Roland Keyboard, 4mb STe and a PC running Ubuntu Studio as a softsynth until I can get a decent synth or mod my Korg MonoTribe for MIDI. lcdenom
Well, an Akai S series sampler has to be one of the most common things paired with an Atari, back in the day. Many of them can be bought for next to nothing now and they're still more than capable instruments, so it's worth keeping an eye on ebay for one. TommyIII
I use a AKAI s950 and a ASR10 Rack With my ST running cubase. Heck you can even get a MSSIAH Midi cart for your c64 and make some serious tunes. Sequence on the 64 or Sequence the 64 with the ST! Hatta
I was just setting up my ST to play with MIDI myself. Found out that Cubase needs a high res display. For now all I have is a midi master keyboard, a 520ST, and an FB-01 synth. And exactly one MIDI cable, heh. I have to add, there is something wrong with MiniDisc. It's ATRAC encoding algorithm is both lossy and proprietary.
