Tempest
Here are the list of games that currently do not appear to work with the Incognito SIDE loader. I will update this post as new games are reported. I am getting my ATR files from either AtariMania or Fandal's site. Current List of Games Not Working ======================= A.E . - Hangs after loading the first side. One version got to the title screen, but crashed when trying to flip sides. Cutthroats -Won't flip sides Hollywood Hijinx -Won't flip sides Infidel -Won't flip sides
Marius
Could you please test for me whether The Brundles will flip disks? (You can remove this post if you want, since this is a sticky) I created a patch for The Brundles so it can flip disks on MyIDE (with MyBIOS-RE) but I am really curious whether the original 'the brudndles' will do a flip disk on Incognito/SIDE. Thanks for testing! M.
flashjazzcat
If it's the first request to insert the "level" disk, then it works on U1MB. Just tried it.

candle
tempest, please put xex or atr together with the title, it will be more informative for me then also, you could PM met atr or xex files so i could check what's going on
Tempest
Sure no problem. These are all ATR files, all the XEX files work like a charm.
Tempest
Candle says Cutthroats and Infidel work for him, but I tried them again and couldn't get them to flip. Can someone else try these and see?
flashjazzcat
Can you cut me in on the ATRs and XEXs? It'll save me searching and ensure I'm testing the correct versions. Well, I'm still testing with U1MB but Cutthroats and Infidel from Atarimania won't flip for me: they just lock up. Those are the ones I was using. I also tried the ones from Fandal's site (http://atari.fandal.cz/) with the same results.
adam242
I can't get any of the three versions of Qb available at atarionline.pl to work. Both .xex and .atr files fail - they start to load (I can see the HD light flicker, and hear the speaker during the .xex load) but then freeze the machine. Maybe that's why?
adam242
It is a PAL only game, but I put my PAL ANTIC in there so it will run games like Qb and Marbled. Nevermind, you can cross it off the list. I played around with the config settings and it runs fine now. It has to be in Colleen mode. I thought SIDE was XL/XE mode only?
adam242
How are you running SIDE in Colleen mode? I thought SIDE was XL/XE mode only? If I set the Incognito config for Colleen, 48K or 52K and SIDE on, it works. 32K or less gives a garbled SIDE directory. I don't know how or why it works, I'm just happy to be able to play Qb on my 800!

If you try a .ATR file it will dump you to Memo Pad (if you try and set sides using the Space Bar the graphics for SIDE get corrupted as well). flashjazzcat
As has been written before, ATR mounting uses the PBI - XEX loading does not. No PBI in Colleen mode. Ergo...
Marius
I asked drac030 already in the ide+ thread... But perhaps it is a lot easier to ask here; would it be hard to make this also working without ultimate 1mb and with ide+ 2.0 and FAT32 partition?
flashjazzcat
IDE+ BIOS support for bootable ATRs in the FAT partition is something only Drac030 can address. I think he said already that he'd consider coding it up as soon as he has time.

I thought it would have been easy... but you're right; I'll wait for Drac030... it is fabulous all this development. I really should now start upgrading my Atari 800 with the incognito, but I'm really scared a bit. I have an amazing amount of XL/XE... but just 2 good PAL 800's, and a good NTSC one. I don't want to destroy these superb machines.
flashjazzcat
True! I thought it would have been easy... Although I've no doubt that Konrad could code it up in his sleep, it's nevertheless not a trivial task to implement. One must basically write something akin to a rudimentary FAT32 DOS which fits into PBI ROM space, as I discovered last year.

Magic Knight
Can Incognito load Atarimax cart prepared files? ( space Harrier - both rom and bin and Elite.rom for example). Cant seem to get them to respond. (from the bios loader screen - SDX is still new to me) I appreciate incognito / Side isnt expected to be supported, but if there was a way, i would be happy to know how! or is there a program to convert to a standard XEX that might be a better option for me? mimo
Nope, the Atarimax cart is a whole different kettle of onions.side cart should be thought of as a hdd or floppy drive rather than a cart. Space Harrier uses a lot of bank switching to be able to run on a 64k machine, there is no xex image available as far as I know Edited March 30, 2013 by mimo
Wrathchild
Hi, Regarding the Infocom titles, many years back I did work to put the interpreter onto (flash) cartridge. In doing so I looked at the many images out there and did find a few to be corrupt. (You can verify within the game by typing "$VER") But Cutthroats was OK so I don't know what the problem is there. However, I've rebuilt the interpreter into a 1040 * 128 byte sector disk image (Medium density?) and within this can place the whole .z3 file of any game. The interpreter was the one taken from the Hitch-Hikers game but should be OK to run all the others. Attached therefore is a test image, can people try this out on different media to see how it fares and report back? Thanks, Mark cutthroats_test.atr
greblus
Hi. I've a related question: Is there any version of the "Alternate Reality The City" which is working correctly with Side/U1MB or Incognito? I tried all versions available on atarionline.pl without luck so far.
