Tjohoo!
Hello everyone! I have never own an atari 2600 before but I love retro gaming so I would like to buy one in the NTSC format. I live in Sweden and here we have PAL witch I somehow dislike but there aren't any NTSC consoles for sales here. Also, there are loads of more games on the NTSC format than on the PAL... The console I'm looking for is the woodgrain version, the first model! I would like to check here on the forum if there is some reliable person who maybe can think to sell one to me. I promise, I'm very honest and I'm NOT going to fool/cheat anyone! AT ALL!!! If someone have a NTSC Atari 2600 console - first model - for sale to Sweden, please let me know! Best regards/Niklas
gzsfrk
Do you also have an NTSC television to play it on? Also, is there any particular reason you don't want to play the games on a PAL VCS (Atari 2600)? I always thought they were all but identical, sans the minor difference in refresh rate. Tjohoo!
Yes, I have a TV that support NTSC signal. I also have a NTSC nes and it plays great on my tv! Guess I have to use a different adapter. I'm unsure if the atari 2600 is region free. I have read that you can play ntsc games on pal but the colors don't show up in a good way, alternate, not working. Would be awesome to find one that have a modded "AV-input"! Don't know how the chances are that I should find one... Edited April 26, 2013 by Tjohoo!
gzsfrk
Well I've got 8 or so working 2600s in the closet, so I'd be happy to sell one of them to a fellow enthusiast. But I have to imagine that shipping a medium-sized package from the US to Sweden would be cost prohibitive. Anyone here that can chime in on the expected cost of sending a VCS to Pewdiepie-land? Tjohoo!
Yes, then we have the shipping...What is the price you would take for one of your consoles? And yes, if anyone know the expected cost of sending an Atari VCS, please let me know, I would gladly appreciate that!!! "Pewdiepie-land", that was a good one! captmorgandrinker
You might be better off getting a 2600 Jr.; those would fit into a flat rate box for cheaper shipping.

Is these models region free or is it the same with the Atari 2600? /Nick Edited December 1, 2013 by Tjohoo!

Micheloni2600
I have a couple lying around the house, are you looking for the heavy sixer from 77', or the Later model but still Woodgrain Light 4 switch from 80' up? Also I do happen to own a 1984 Atari Junior which is the same 4 switch concept great condition, cheaper shipping, no games would be included except for the generic Missile Command, Berzerk and Adventure.
