Ok another silly question but....

 

does anyone know what this mod would be for?? The only thing i can tell is that it has a red light when the switch is one way and green the other.

 

The Red switch stops you writing to the disk.

 

Is this a Happy controller? or something else (i thought the happy controller needed two swriches).

 

 

or maybe there is some other mod that does this etc.

 

 

 

does this ring a bell with anyone?

its a write enable/disable switch. You can write on the reverse side of a floppy without having to notch it.

There's a double sided mechanism in it? Must be to write on both sides. Or just allows writing even if the disk isn't notched.

The latter, this allows you to flip the floppy over to write to the backside without having to notch the disk...

The latter. It simply bypasses the write protect notch, and always allows writing to the disk.
