bomberpunk
i previously i unveiled a on my blog last week of my latest creation, a side-scrolling shmup i coded in Qbasic. there are 4 different boss battles and a color-matching game mechanic (hence the game's title). i started coding the game 10 days ago, and finished the bulk of it in 7. the last three days were spent on debugging, bells & whistles, and finding the perfect speed for the compiled EXE (which differs from the BAS source for some reason). today the game is officially complete and ready for consumers. below are two screenshots of (1) game overview and (2) in-game achievements. below the photos is the link to the game. it's free! play it! updated: CHAMELEON_v08192013 (105kb) [via MediaFire] next mission: finish coding my 2011 MicroDungeon game. +Random Terrain
Next you can make a game using Construct 2: www.scirra.com Then people could play it online. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0-RWcV5qRY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBbGc56br8Q
+Gemintronic
QBASIC programmers are a special kind of crazy R.T. Kinda like bB fanbois QB for lyfe! You could make it a real Windows program with QB64 if you wanted to bomberpunk. http://www.qb64.net/
bomberpunk
it runs fine in QB64 after altering some speed settings: Chameleon_QB64.exe the above file apparently doesn't work without having it in the qb64 directory. that's pretty stupid. makes the whole being an executable thing pointless. +Random Terrain
edit: damnit, i just found a sixth bug. It takes at least a month to bug test and polish a game, so I'm not surprised.
