Dig Dug glitch

Just got through clearing several screens when toward the end of finishing one, the red guy was booking toward the exit when he suddenly disappeared! Seconds later, he reappeared on the opposite side of the screen and was stuck in a pattern of moving along a horizontal line across the screen. When reaching the far left side, wraps around to the right, as if it were in a Pac-Man tunnel.

 

Anyone ever witness anything like this playing Dig Dug on Intellivision?

Yes, I had that happen once too.  I'm glad to know I didn't have a defective cart after all.

 

One of my strategies as a kid was to pump up the last enemy halfway, then move and pump it up one last time to burst it.  That would cause it to take twice as long to despawn and end the level, giving me a little more time to grab the vegetable, or at least dig for a few more points, before the action stopped and the end-of-level tune started.  Sometimes though, it would backfire, and my pump would remain stuck to the enemy, preventing me from moving.  I guess the game is just a little buggy.

We are playing Dig Dug in the Intellivision HSC and it happened to me! I just watched in amazement for a minute then I took the critter out.?
