M.A.M.E Offender Posted July 11, 2013 Share Posted July 11, 2013 Yeah, getting in the zone is very crucial as you must keep your errant shots to a minimum. I wonder what the record for the amount of times you shoot the bear on the bonus rounds is? I managed to hit him about 14 times once! Is there a cap on the point values that are shown on the right of the screen? They start at 10/30/50 and increase by 10 pts. each round. If there is no cap, that would be the way to get a killer score. I know the ducks eat bullets. aside from that I also seem to be loosing packs of bullets for some other reason. I don't know how to get extra bullets. (the number of point always goes down, the number of points is located right below the pipes). -Try keeping the BONUS letters as long as possible, then shoots the letters in order. (the bonus point increase every time you hit a target, see right corner for the point value) When BONUS is completed, you will get the points. If you don't get it in order you will not get any points. -In the upper left corner different items will appear. Extra Bullets, extra points. Just shoot at it to receive the extra. ...or you will loose points or bullets. This is probably why you are loosing bullets without knowing it! -To get extra bullets shoot the boxes with number in it. 10 or 5. Like most Sega games, Carnival has a unique way of scoring points. I also didn't really understand the ways of the scoring. But after multiple games, I slowly learned its ways. You have the opportunity each board to score a bonus by shooting the letters that float by in the correct order. What I recently discovered is you can increase that bonus sum by shooting items prior to shooting the first letter (B). Once you build up the bonus, attack the letters. But be careful. Shooting any letter out of order wipes the bonus out. Keep in mind that the birds that fly down to eat your ammunition will award no points. However, hitting them in downward flight will produce very much needed ammunition whether it is mobile or stationary. So, in other words. Hit just enough falling birds and you should have enough bullits. Obviously try and hit the upper level characters as they will offer the most points. When shooting the pipes, I find it easier to hit them from the left side of the wheel. It also allows you to quickly shoot at positive bonuses that randomly pop up. onmode-ky Posted July 14, 2013 Share Posted July 14, 2013 I couldn't get the Romnation ROM to work on my MAME 0.144 (complaint about a single missing file), so I replaced it with one from Edgeemu. 17,840. It really sucks when a round starts off with a whole bunch of birds on the bottom row. Actually, no, it really sucks when the game decides you've been playing too long and then starts a non-stop stream of birds. . . .
