opening old model SNES

i was wondering if anyone knows the where to get the nessacary tools to open a original SNES case. It doesn`t have the standard security screws the i have seen before(the 'Y' looking styler) i don`t beleive.

and i`m working on a pretty interesting project, i`ll post some pics once i start.

on a side note; i was thinking about taking out the two tabs that prevnt you from playing super famicom games on it. Since i`ll have the case open anyways. But are they're any problems with doing this?? Could you damage your system witout using a converter??

the best solution to play super famicom games is just to get a game genie and break the tabs off of it, as they are much easier to break

I have a converter already, but i was just thinking i could emliminate having to carry that around too whenver i took my SNES somewhere

In a pinch, a thin wall 6 point 4 mm socket will take them out of an SNES. They are a pain, and I usually replace them with phillips.

 

Good luck on your project. I used to have one in the arm rest of my Camaro (TV in the dash, Street Fighter was all the rage. Alas, my ill spent college days...) that I dissected and reassembled as a side-inserter.

I just got back home, and have the bits. Already opened the SNES and have it all prepped for the project. I`m gonna attempt to post pictures of it as it is cominging along. It's not terribly original, but i have not seen anyone else do something like this to the SNES.

I`m gonna do the anti-lock-out mod as well, just somehting to make playing SF games a touch easier
