lisalover1
I recently discovered that the C64 games I had been playing weren't just very quiet; the sound in my system actually was not working. I believe the problem may lie in the SID chip being faulty, so if anyone has a spare working SID that they would be willing to part with, please let me know. I'm also always on the lookout for cartridge and floppy games for the system.
Isgoed
I've had a C64 with no sound at all, just like yours? The PSU gives two different outputs, one for sound and the other one escapes me atm, but I think it was for the main board etc. You can find the schematic for the PSU powerplug on the internet and check if yours is ok. Anyway, I measured my PSU and only one output worked and the other not. I used an other PSU and the sound worked fine.
