Hatta
Some games lag doesn't matter so much. Playing SimCity on a laggy display is no big deal. Other games are predictable enough that with practice you can anticipate. A little lag isn't such a big deal in Super Mario Brothers. But games with random elements can't be accomodated in this way. Suppose an enemy is firing at you, and you have half a second to get out of the way. With no lag, you can see the bullet and press the button in .25s. That's fairly easy. With .2s lag, you see the bullet and press the button in .45s. That's a margin of .05s to pull it off right. There's no way you can anticipate that without supernatural abilities. Now think about what happens when the game gets harder, and it only gives you .4s to react.
