Rev
Thanks to Mauro for sending me this old Italian ad. As you can see the Intellivision had the idea of a tennis racket attached to a controller 30 years before wii did it! :-).
mr_intv
That's fantastic! But one question, what's a Wii??
+intvsteve
that's pretty cool!
voltron
I always said Intellivision was ahead of its time. Look at the playcable (online gaming of its day) the intellivoice that was high tech back in the days. it was 16 bits when everyone was 8.
Rev
That's fantastic! But one question, what's a Wii? Hey! The wii is a good system too! It has data east classics...burgertime arcade!
mr_intv
I actually like the wii also, too bad they don't have intellivision as part of the virtual console. As for Burger Time Arcade, I play that on the 360.

mr_intv
Sorry, that's what I meant, Burger Time World Tour. Not arcade. I like BTWT, haven't played it in quite awhile but its one of the better downloadable games.

LidLikesIntellivision
I like the wii very much. It has many emulators and I know a guy who only plays intellivision on the wii. Personally inty controller is great. If I could suggest an improvement, it isn't a tennis racquet but a touch screen in the keypad.
Vic George 2K3
An Intellivision controller with a touch screen for a keypad? Doesn't sound bad in an alternate reality sort of way, if videogame systems haven't started coming out until the 2000s. A glider pad in place of its directional disc also wouldn't hurt. But it sure does need better action buttons.
Britishcar
Can we pull over? I need to go Wii.
+JasonlikesINTV
A recent lot of manuals I received had a manual for the Amiga Joyboard, which kinda reminds me of the Wii Fit. http://www.amigahistory.co.uk/joyboard/joyboardbox7.jpg

Oooh, and "body play party games"... Edited September 9, 2013 by intvsteve

The Keyboard Component and the PlayCable are two devices that blow my mind. They attempted to bring features that we never saw again in the mainstream until at least 20 years later. dZ.
