Wally1
I am trying to print from Atariwriter with my Panasonic 1150 printer. I am also using the MPP-1150 printer interface. I select printer option '4' from the print menu (Atari 822) but the printer keeps printing over the same line, without carriage returns. what can I do? thanks
flashjazzcat
You need to get the interface to send line feeds to the printer. On the P:R: Connection, there's a jumper for this. Not sure about the MPP-1150. It could also be done via software (by explicitly sending the CR/LF sequence from the word processor).
Wally1
I figured out that CTRL-J is a line feed and it works. but do i have end every line with a ctrl-j? and i cant insert them in an Atariwriter document. HiassofT
According to the user manual you can enable "Auto LF" using the panel buttons (see page 27/28 of the manual for details). Most of the old printers have such a feature, usually on a dip-switch block, your panasonic printer seems to be somewhat newer and use an eeprom for that BTW: in general it's better to enable auto-lf in the printer than in the interface. When printing graphics converting 155 to 13,10 would totally mess up the output, converting 155 to 13 only shows up as a slight distortion in the graphics. so long, Hias
UNIXcoffee928
The Panasonic 1080 & 1091 had a DIP-switch (inside the printer) that was to be manually set (by the user) to fix this. Check your Panasonic manual for the DIP-switch settings, to correct the problem. It's been about 30 years, but I think that it was the last switch in the bank, for those two models. edit: oh, looks like Hias answered it as I was typing.
