Cropsy
I finally tidied my Hangman editor up enough for public consumption. It's available at http://www.videofringe.com/hangman/hangman.php There's a detailed description on the page but basically you give it a wordlist and pick the graphic for the victim to be hung. The editor does it's thing and spits out a ROM file ready for use on an emulator or real 2600. See my avatar for an example screendump. Comments and suggestions for improvements are welcome.

Xot
Ultra cool. Any chance you can post the original word list Hangman comes with? That would be interesting to see. Is it a full 512 words? Can't wait to try it out.

Certainly The original wordlist is now available at http://www.videofringe.com/hangman/OriginalWords.txt The 4 different A-Z lists reflect the different difficulty levels, each increase in level adds additional words. Awesome. I love how on the higher difficulties in addition to using longer and less common words, the word lists feature more words with similar letters; I noticed a lot of words that started with DE, for example. Looks like the word lists were better thought out than I realized. I had assumed they just punched in the first 500 or so words in a dictionary. krisjohn
Very cool tool. For anyone that's interested I did a Halloween version using a list of 163 Halloween words and the Pac Man Ghost. Greg Zumwalt
I have created BINs for each graphic using the wordlists: OriginalWords.txt, Wordlist.txt, and also 4letterWords.txt also using the Big List of Atari 2600 carts, I sorted out all 4-6 letter words and names into a file containing just over 1500 words. Given the 510 word limit, I split the list into 3 pieces. Each list has been randomly mixed. That is to say, each list contains words from a-z. I then made BINs using each of the 3 lists and of each graphic. All of the BINs can be found here: http://snailsoft.dyn.ee/atari/atari2/downl...mming/index.htm If anyone makes a new BIN, please send it to me. Include your name/nick and a the name of your list.
