yell0w_lantern
I have been trying to mod a 64k CoCo2 to color composite out. I have tried 2 different mods and rebuilt one of them several times but all I get is a black screen. I have noticed that the mods usually are listed as CoCo1 but have read that they should work on a 2. Has anyone here successfully installed color composite on a CoCo 2? If so which circuit did you use? Here is one of the pages I used. It has 3 Composite mods and I built the first 2 (Fig 1 and "the Other Bob"). http://sparksandflames.com/g35.html Before anyone asks, I do have a CoCo 3 already. AtariLeaf
I would suggest signing up and posting about this at the coco mailing list. They know the technical side of the coco in and out over there and could possibly help you. Good luck Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/218500-coco-2-av-mod/#findComment-2863934 Share on other sites
jmetal88
Yeah, I also tried a couple of CoCo 1 video mods on my CoCo 2 without success. It seems like Tandy changed the format of the output to the RF modulator at some point in the CoCo 2. ColorComputerStore
The circuits you see for composite mods are generally for the CoCo 1. In that model, the Motorola MC1372 is near to the Motorola MC6847. The CoCo 2 was reduced in cost and some circuits were redesigned. the MC1372 moved to inside the RF modulator. So, you won't be able to use CoCo 1 A/V mode on a CoCo 2.
