Modifiying a Megafile case for add ons

I have been upgrading and updating my Atari ST mega 4 for the past 6 months.

I now have been adding stuff into the new Megafile case I bought from Best Electronics.

1. Eiffle PS2 controller - Alan H
2. Ethernet controller - Alan H
3. DVD burner
4. Video doubler - HD9800/GBS8200 ver 5

Still need to cut some holes so I can put the top on it.

Thanks. Cable management and cutting holes is what I have left to do before putting the lid on it.

You can buy the Mega file case empty at best Electronics? How much was it? I want to do something similar. That is awesome.

I don't remember the exact price since I bought about 4 things from him. Just email Bradley and ask. The one he sold me was brand new. If I had it to do over I would have tried to get the one with the tape drive hole already cut into it.

 

At the time I was not going to put the DVD burner in it but things just rolled that way.

Last pictures. I plan to clean up the drive bay with some bordering.

Put a border around the DVD to clean up the appearance. Think it will work.

Maybe you should try sanding the edges with sandpaper instead to smooth out the edges? Or a big nail filer? Yeah, it looks a little rough around the edges, but I would end up with the same result too if I did this.

 

IMO, you should have left the badge alone. If you were going to cut it, I would have just cut the "30" part of the badge and left "ATARI MEGAFILE" on there. The badge should also be at the same level as the LED lights, not the LED labels. That's the way it is on a MegaFile 44.

Always cut too small and file to size. I learned this the hard way.
