Kyle22
I lost my MidiMate interface in a move a long time ago. Now, I want to play some music using schematics here: http://www.ixkuczek.republika.pl/ixkuczek.html#midi_in_out I haven't built anything yet. It looks like there is some type of active component needed in the interface that allows the software to detect it. All I get is 'MidiMate Error' from MidiTrack III. Does anyone know if the MidiMax box is compatible? Thanks for any and all info. -Kyle
Mathy
Hello Kyle If you haven't build it yet, try HARdwareDoc's MIDI interface. It's 100% Midimate compatible (no sync port, but you get IN, OUT and THRU). Sincerely Mathy

Kyle22
I forgot to ask about the possibility of using MIDI sounds / music in games. I hope I didn't buy an MT-32 for nothing. In reality, even if no games will work, I'll still have fun playing music on it (once I get the interface figured out). -K
Mathy
Hello Kyle It should be possible. But I'm afraid it hasn't been done on the 8 bit Atari yet. Sincerely Mathy BTW we played Midi-Maze using HARdwareDoc's MIDI interface at last years NOMAM meeting. When we packed up our stuff, we discovered that the organ in the room did have a MIDI interface.
Kyle22
Next time you get a chance to use that organ, give it a try with some music
Mathy
Hello Kyle The NOMAM 2014 will be at the same location as the NOMAM 2013, so I'm hoping it's still there when we get there. Sincerely Mathy PS Unfortunately the church's tower doesn't have a MIDI interface.

Kyle22
Is there schematics to that or is that for purchase only? Appears to be purchase only. I emailed him, have got no reply yet. I could build something if it's fairly simple.
Mathy
Hello guys You can order the interface as a PCB with the PAL chip, a kit (complete) and as "ready to use except for the SIO-plug" IIRC. I ordered the complete kit. It was 35 Euro IIRC. Sincerely Mathy
sup8pdct
For miditrack to work, i believe that pins 9 and 10 need to be shorted. James
