qixmaster
Looked around and couldn't find anything about this/these cart(s). I have two of them, both have generic homemade labels. Both are identical and both have been tested on my 130xe - found out my the "9" key doesn't work! Any info would be great! Photos
Joe Stella
That's cool. Might want to cover up those eprom windows.
SoundGammon
I've got a couple of eprom burners if you want me to make back ups!
qixmaster
they've been covered up after photos. any other info on these? couldn't find anything on atarimania? did some dude just make these in his basement?
1050
Most likely just some dude as these are standard Atari issued Eprom cart boards. The code on them though might be unheard of before this if it is genuinely from Atari? Making the dude in question somewhat 'inside' connected to Atari in order to be in possession of 'in house' diagnostic code to start with, again if genuine. But I'm the last guy to ask about this part, just my wild guess so far. Is that star field really there or is it your video with noise? Does your nine key pass the built in test? I'll back those up for you too if you want. Just have to wonder how far away this code is from the built in test.
Rybags
Interesting - entirely possible they'd have used a sacrificial normal cart to put this on, if it was a factory thing then they might have only bothered making a few. A dump would be nice. Also interesting that they've included A/V, RAM & keyboard tests since they already exist in the OS, although not exactly comprehensive - with 8 or 16K on a cart they could be somewhat more complete. qixmaster
i'll try the built in test for the 9 key. i'll get them dumped here shortly, but thank you for the offer. star field is not there, just my shitty connection
Rybags
You can do your own dump so long as you've got a method to get downloaded software from the 'net to your Atari e.g. APE, SIO2SD etc. If required I can supply my filecopy program which should be able to handle it for you. Involves hotswapping the cart into the machine while running, 99.9% safe.
+MrFish
There's already a dump of it. I can't remember where I got it from: Test - 65XE, 130XE R2.zip
+MrFish
It looks like it might be the same thing sold by Best in cartridge form, and maybe the same as what's on the 130XE Diagnostic Board. The cartridge is sold with a test fixture too. So it looks like it's necessary for the cart to be fully useful.
Panther
This appears to be the basic test cart, not the versions with the test hardware, so anyone could use this. It's just not as thorough.
