JamesD
Apparently the new robocaller machines have recorded responses and speech recognition but they still respond a lot like Eliza. Since it's prerecorded it can't use words you use but the conversation still sounds about as weird.http://tinyurl.com/ps73ks5 Edited December 17, 2013 by JamesD
carlsson
This reminds me of something I read 30 years ago, about how in the future computers would try to look and behave like humans, and get upset when they were exposed to actually be computers. The conclusion of that text is that the computer does not strive to be understood by humans, it wants to test the advantage of emotional power when programmed into a computer. Better not mess with Samantha, she might have backdoors into the system to get her will and fabricate authentic looking evidence against you in the future... There is also a Swedish TV series right now, called Äkta Människor (Real Humans) about future "hubots" serving humans and some of them breaking free. The show has been exported to a couple of countries, which is unusual for Swedish shows.
