Atariboy
I'm now a Wii U owner but I can't seem to connect to my wifi network. Other than the original DS which I bought the USB wifi adapter for (I think I might've not even had a wireless router at that point), I've never had any trouble connecting anything to my router including the Wii, systems like the PS3, and PC's. So I'm puzzled. I can see my network and when I enter my 26 letter WEP key, the connection test always fails. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? The counter says 26/64 when I'm done entering it as if it expects a much longer key than mine. Edited January 3, 2014 by Atariboy
Atariboy
I had to do this nonsense for some reason to make it work. http://m.gamefaqs.com/boards/631516-wii-u/64663922
goldenegg
They must still be shipping Wii U consoles with an old system update, as that DHCP issue was fixed a few weeks after launch.
Atariboy
This one still needed the day 1 update since I couldn't access Wii mode which was enabled by that (Which is what prompted me tonight to mess with the online setup in the first place). I wonder why they don't roll the latest updates out as they become available unless this one just managed to go unsold all year. NE146
Yep.. do an update pronto then you will get your DHCP back. Not that there's anything inherently wrong with manually setting your IP.. I prefer that way anyway for some devices. Sooooo annoying! Hopefully Nintendo eventually ships their systems with a later system update, heh.
