+TwentySixHundred Posted January 9, 2014 Share Posted January 9, 2014 Hi all, been a while due to work and stuff anyway i am wondering if a game manual tab could be added as a feature? There is screenshot and ROM info features but nothing you can read say a text format game manual in the Stella GUI. Personally i think it would be a nice addition as you can have a read of the manual before playing a game.As we all know manuals are essential with 2600 games and any feature like the screenshot one makes that nostalgia feeling a little stronger. Unfortunately for me always on the go, my Atari and other systems don't spend much time out the box so emulation does the job for me. PFL Posted January 9, 2014 Share Posted January 9, 2014 It would be a super cool feature. Perhaps the manuals could be downloaded as a 'pack' from Atarimania? I've no idea how much work something like that would take (I'd presume a lot!) but it really would add to the whole Stella experience. I think Stephena has in the past talked about GUI upgrades but it sounded like it was a long way off (after SDL2 migration and other stuff) but you never know... +TwentySixHundred Posted January 10, 2014 Author Share Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) Yeah i was thinking for one you would need some sort of a scroll bar added for long manuals such as Space Shuttle but other then that i assume the code would be similar to the screenshot feature. The charts and uploading packs to Atarimania sound like a really good ideas too, maybe if it were to be implemented expand the feature to include cart.png's and box art tabs ect.
