The cheapest X-Arcade joystick available (single player, no trackball) is $80: http://www.xgaming.com/store/category/arcade-joysticks-and-game-controllers/ The two players version is $130, and the one with the trackball is $200. And the adapters for systems that don't use USB are sold separetely (from $10 to $60). It looks pretty expensive to me I was thinking more of the used market.
