Atari8bitCarts
It has come into my possession some parts and software what appears to be used for industrial CNC operations? I'm hoping that someone remembers this or knows who the developer is. I will add more pictures of the hardware shortly. Developer: Mark Wang Year: 1984 Title: Automatic Downfeed Company: A.M.W. Inc. Atari8bitCarts
The previous owner said: the original maker of the machine tool was "proth industrial taiwan" and the controller was manufactured by "amw".
Atari8bitCarts
ok, I got more information from them: I just coulrn't bring myself to throw it in the garbage. I work on cnc machinery for a living and I had never seen, nor heard of one. The unit you have was utilized to control 1 servo/stepper axis motion on a surface grinder mfg by Proth(taiwan) the controller was mfg by a company called AMW. thats all I know. +davidcalgary29
There's a little snippet about it here in the attached user's group newsletter -- just search for "Wang". xiomayjun97.pdf Fascinating, yet depressing, look at the death of the Atari Users group scene after 1996. Current Notes was published in Canada? Am I missing something here? I thought that that was the newsletter of the DC area group. I feel that I need to phone those old members to clarify some of this information.
+David_P
As I recall, Current Notes was taken over by a crew from TAF, the Toronto Atari Federation, at the end.
