New Terry Bogard demo likely narrows down Fatal Fury character's release date for Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6 Season 2 is now well underway with M. Bison already being in the hands of players for almost two months, and there's a new guest about to knock on the door to join the party.

And while it seems we know when Terry Bogard's trailer is dropping for SF6 this week, we may now also have a better idea of when the new DLC character will actually be releasing

Capcom had already revealed a few demo locations for event attendees to try out Terry ahead of his launch, and there's a third that's farther out than the others, which may significantly narrow down when he'll arrive for everyone.

First, the Fatal Fury star will be available to play at Capcom's booth in Gamescom 2024 from August 21–25 in Germany.

This is also where Terry's actual gameplay trailer will drop tomorrow too in all likelihood.

Following that, Mr. Bogard will be hitting the road and heading to PAX West where Capcom is slated to bring his demo along too from presumably August 30 through September 2.

But that's not all.

Capcom is also going to be present at TwitchCon next month too with presumably one last location to take Terry for a test drive.

The company states they'll have a streaming booth set up for creators to showcase Terry at the event from September 20–22.

It is possible that Street Fighter's first outside guest character could release before that point, but our money's on mostly likely not since we don't often see Capcom put on post-launch demos like this.

So Terry is probably going to hit the streets at some point after September 22, but when?

If we had to take a guess, September 23 or 24 would actually be for when Mr. Bogard will arrive on the scene.

We've seen in the past with characters like A.K.I. and Akuma in SF6, who received their gameplay trailers around a month before officially releasing for everyone, which would line up nicely with the Gamescom schedule.

That could also leave September 30 on the table too.

Another reason we don't have Terry coming before that is he's stated to release in Fall 2024, but the Autumn season doesn't actually start until September 22 fittingly enough.

If that does come to pass, however, we'll probably be waiting over three months until Mai Shiranui launches as the next DLC character after Terry since she was scheduled to come during the Winter season next year followed by Elena in the Spring.

This wait may be extra tough if we don't get any other new content to hold players over since there's no new outfits announced like there was last year.

No matter what's coming our way, however, we'll likely be seeing and learning a lot more tomorrow, August 20, during the Gamescom Opening Night Live event, so stay tuned for that and more coverage on Terry's chapter in SF6.

Daigo Umehara has a ton of fun discussing guest character wishlist for Street Fighter 6 but he really just wants Capcom vs. SNK 3

After nearly 40 years, Street Fighter is finally opening the door to guest characters starting with Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui from Fatal Fury, and it's interesting to hear someone's perspective who's been competing in those fighting games for basically three decades.

BST|Daigo Umehara recently released a new video where he discusses the upcoming DLC inclusions as well as his wish list for future crossover characters in Street Fighter 6 — though it sounds like he just wants Capcom vs. SNK 3.

Instead of being on his usual stream, this video is in a much more casual setting with food and drinks plus friends to bounce ideas off of, which leads to a ton of laughs from Daigo and the others.

Starting out, Umehara quickly reveals he doesn't really have much interest in playing Terry and Mai themselves since they were never part of his go-to SNK characters in past games.

Instead, it seems he's much more keen on what this could mean in the future for getting more guest characters into SF6 while also cracking some jokes about Terry's moves.

"Well, I was never actually interested in Terry himself, but it'll be intriguing if they keep adding a variety of characters from the series," said Daigo. "He has Burn Knuckle and Crack Shoot. Does he really need two different forward thrust attacks?

Isn't one enough? Oh yeah, he also has Power Dunk too."

As for the SNK fighters he would actually be most interested in, the longtime competitor lists out Geese Howard, Billy Kane, Duck King and Andy Bogard, but then he has a thought.

"Well, surely they're gonna have to add Iori and Kyo, right?" Daigo ponders.

His friend asks if the pro player is serious to which he responds, "What choice do they have!?"

The other person laughs and states it would just be Capcom vs. SNK all over again if they took things that far.

What's wrong with that?" Daigo retorts.

Umehara did compete at a top level in Capcom vs. SNK 2 for a time and scored second place at both Evo and Super Battle Opera in 2003 for the game.

As the discussion goes on, it becomes clear that Daigo would be fine with Street Fighter 6 becoming a pseudo Capcom vs. SNK 3 and thinks other people would be happy with that too.

The friend looks at him like he's crazy, however, and reminds Daigo that newer fans are already complaining about Terry and Mai or don't know who they are.

Umehara goes on to list more fighters he'd be interested to see in SF6 including Athena, Shiki, Genjuro, Sieger and Mr. Big, but again his expectations have to be brought back down to reality.

The other person exclaims that Capcom is not going to add sword / katana characters to Street Fighter to which Daigo agrees with at first before bringing up characters like JP and Cody using weapons.

There's a lot of laughs and jokes brought up throughout the video, which makes it a fun watch, but it ultimately seems like

Daigo just wants Capcom vs. SNK 3.

Luckily for him, the developers at both companies seem to be in agreement on that too.

Street Fighter 6's Producer recently stated the team would like an opportunity to make a new CvS or Marvel vs. Capcom title.

Longtime SNK Producer Yasuyuki Oda also shared similar sentiments about wanting to collaborate with Capcom more in the future as well if Terry and Mai are well received in SF6.

As for Terry himself, the Fatal Fury star should be receiving his gameplay reveal trailer and likely release date today at the Gamescom Opening Night Live event.

We definitely recommend checking out Daigo's video below for a funnier side to the player since it now has English subtitles included.

The highly anticipated Terry Bogard gameplay trailer for Street Fighter 6 was unveiled Tuesday at the Gamescom as part of the Opening Night Live kickoff event.

The crossover will official begin when Terry releases on September 24. You can see the iconic SNK character's latest presentation after the jump below as the full trailer embed awaits.

As per the usual with newcomers, Capcom hits us first with Terry's introduction in the game's single player World Tour Mode.

It seems players will be visiting the Pao Pao Cafe 6 in WT Mode wherein other iconic SNK figures like Joe Higashi and Blue Mary await in the background. Pao Pao Cafe 6 is also a brand new playable stage for the game.

Mr. Bogard has a whopping seven different special attacks he can use to combo and juggle his foes about arenas. Indeed in many of the sequences we see in the trailer, Terry first bounces his opposition up into the air before continuing to hit them with additional strikes.

Here's a list of the specials that the Fatal Fury poster boy will have in Street Fighter 6:

Passing Sway: A unique target combo that moves to the back "lane" of the stage when it hits, then has Terry reappear on either side of his opponent with Jumping Lariat or Jumping Knee – a unique mechanic carried over directly from the Fatal Fury series.

Power Wave: Launch a fireball projectile that travels along the ground, with the light version moving slower and the medium version igniting a bigger wave

Burn Knuckle: A forward thrusting punch, useful for surprises and closing distance. The light version, Quick Burn, reels off a hook, then a downward punch that can’t be blocked while crouching.

Buster Wolf: Terry’s Level 1 Super Art charges him forward with a piercing thrust, firing off a blast of energy, and is invincible on start-up.

Power Geyser: Terry’s Level 2 Super Art erupts a volcanic explosion that pushes opponents away. If it hits, expend 3 Drive Gauge bars to follow-up with a Twin Geyser. And if that hits, spend 1 Super Art gauge for the iconic Triple Geyser.

Rising Fang: Terry’s Level 3 Super Art showcases a lethal sequence of attacks featuring his iconic moves that end with a powerful blast.

For an alternate costume Terry receives his brown jacket from his Garou: Mark of the Wolves appearance. This is the same style he'll be using when the upcoming sequel Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves releases in early 2025.

Here are a whole bunch of high quality photos of Terry in action on his new stage. You'll find the new trailer awaiting just below the gallery:

While I wait patiently for Project Neon and Vengeance Hunters to release, I have been playing my copy of Last Hope for MVS. It’s everything I thought it would be - difficult to play, gorgeous graphics and a memorable soundtrack.

I love my consolized MVS by Neotropolius, but it always had a glaring flaw - it doesn’t have a memory card slot to save my place in games. This leads me to the reason I am posting: what CMVS is there that has the memory card slot to save your place in game?

I worry about buying one of those Chinese CMVS systems due to them failing after 6 months of use (so I’ve heard), so it leaves me  with this question: where can I find a complete CMVS unit?
