Gazoo
Edit: It's filling up nicely, now. Still looking for suggestions! Current rom file is attached in case anyone wants to look at it. Change the .txt extension to .bin after downloading. So I'm anticipating the 512k Rom + 120k Grom cart might be working in the near future. The idea is to use the first bank of Grom (40k at >9800) for XB v2.7, the second bank of Grom (40k at >9804) for the combined TI Writer/Editor Assembler no-disk-needed cart, and the third bank of Grom (40k at >9808) for the menu and loading code for all the EA5 programs stored in the 512k Rom. All the EA5 programs will be accessible from XB via a CALL as well as the main powerup menu, which I may just use GMENU for. I've started putting together the EA5 file list and creating the Rom. There's a bunch of useful stuff there, but it only fills about 1/2 the space so far, and I've run out of ideas. The current configuration is listed below, and I'm welcome to any ideas as to which programs to add to it. +acadiel
I can't wait until we let this thing loose in the wild. Between the design that Ksarul did on the PCB, Tursi did in the Atmega GROM simulation, the 512K ROM part, and people putting stuff together like this... it's gonna be awesome. +1, everyone. Great job!
Gazoo
I'm thinking that I'd like to add a Binary<->Hex<->Decimal converter and a DV80<->DF128 file converter to the cartridge. Anyone have EA5 versions of programs that do these things? Thanks, Gazoo
+Ksarul
I'd think about loading a GPL Assembler and a GPL Disassembler to it as well. . .

+Ksarul
I was thinking the three from Ryte Data--but I only have those on TI disks, not on a PC image (and I'm not set up for transfers at the moment). I forgot to mention the Linker in the first post. . . Edited April 6, 2014 by Ksarul
Asmusr
For those of us with nanoPEBs CF2K is an essential utility, and perhaps also CFHDXS?
Gazoo
For those of us with nanoPEBs CF2K is an essential utility, and perhaps also CFHDXS? Ok, there's room. Post a link or a disk image of the files you want loaded on the cart here, please. The disk image with just the EA5 files would make things simpler. Omega-TI
This is a neat little gadget. For a few bucks more, would you be willing to make custom carts? Some people have both Nano's and regular PEB's and they might want all these different programs in one cart, while others might not want a 'cluttered' cartridge with a bunch of stuff for a systems they do not have, or for applications they never intend to use. Also, some people might not be into programming, or want redundant programs, while others might want a couple of graphics programs. Are there any graphics programs under consideration that could display old TI-Artist, MAC or RLE pictures? There are also F18A user's that might prefer 80 column versions as well. RXB
Why XB v2.7? Is that not just a version with XB Plot built in? It also uses the GKXB mods to XB too.
Gazoo
Why XB v2.7? Is that not just a version with XB Plot built in? It also uses the GKXB mods to XB too. Because it's mine and I'm partial to it. What's XB Plot? Never heard of it. I think I used the press a key to bypass the DSK1.LOAD from the GKXB mods, but that's probably the only one.

There's all kinds of possibilities as to what can go on one of these things. For now, I want to just try and get what I have in mind working. I'm sure others will put together different versions of what they want once the hardware all plays nice together. Custom versions for individuals? Sure, that's possible. There are at least several people here with the skills to do that. Gazoo

Gazoo
What's XB2.7? I have XB 2.5 on emulator, is it a descendant of that? Yes, one more command has been added in v2.7. CALL DSQD will format a 720k disk in drive 2. Gazoo
