Extra Life Bonus!

Ok....

Post a Pic of your 'Extra Lives'.

I will consider '8' as the maximum of extra lives. (When you get to 9 lives CRASH!) Take that pic!

Everyone will be ranked based on 'Extra Lives' and then LOWEST SCORE.

So a person who posts a pic of 8 extra lives and 142,000 will be ranked higher than 8 extra lives 198,000.

Also a person who posts a pic of 5 extra lives and 98,000 will be ranked higher than 5 extra lives and 136,000

So the first goal is to get to 8 extra lives..... then post a pic with the lowest score.

Of note: In order to qualify for this bonus your pic MUST have at least 5 extra lives.

Might as well score the bonus first. The HS is going to take some time. Which would everyone prefer? A photo of my Flashback 2 with all exclaimations marks, or a video without sound using PCAE?

Not sure if this counts. What does, "fly fast and only shoot if you have to?" Does this mean we cannot hold the joystick neutral (must push forward?)

First Attempt (this week) (TBonePearson had this as an Atari Challenge, so I have had some fairly recent practice in the last 2 months. We were playing Expert difficulty, so we only got straight missiles.)

it is actually the 4th bridge. You score 500 points for blowing up a bridge, so unless come bug/exploit exists, this is the lowest score possible. I would have prefered this to be something like the 10th bridge. Much harder to not shoot anything for 10 levels (impossible I think, but searching for the best path would be fun) than 4. For comparison, here is the first 12 11 bridges (duplicated bridge 4) of the game (bridge 1 is where you start the game at. Note: you never destroy this bridge). You will note that the entire road is visible where your plane normally starts. You will also note that the 5th bridge (labeled 6 here), is the correct bridge.

Yes, I also think it is the 4th bridge. So mininum is your 2,000 points you got 'cause you have to destroy 4 bridges worth 500 points each.

 

The road doesn't show in Vocelli's pic because he died all lives when he took that pic -note there's no plane and the scrolling Activision text at bottom (wasn't it against his own bonus rule "~ You May have 1+ lives left but not 0 Lives."??)

 

And for the same reason Vocelli crashed his last plane a little after passing the bridge, in his pic the enemies are in a little different position compared to CapitanClassic's pic, you can't see all the road and Vocelli's pic also shows a second helicopter.

If we want consistent pictures, we should change the rules to the following:

 

What is the lowest score you can get until you knock out this bridge?

~ Your Pic MUST show this bridge/road knocked out

~ Your Pic MUST show your plane respawning in-between the road, ready for you to touch the joystick and continue play.

~ You May have 1+ lives left but not 0 Lives.

 

The other rules imply that the middle rule was the intent, but as LidLikesIntellivision points, the example photo leads to confusion.
