Lynxpro
Space Invaders is not playable with it. I wonder why? Why would it care about the up/down part of the joystick? Is there something I should do with the extra wire from the old joystick pots? Should it be grounded to make Space Invaders work? So list of games that work: Super Breakout Kaboom Wait, are you saying they work/don't work with the Atari 2600 Paddle POT or the 2600 Driving Controller POT? Charlie_
Don't forget Castle Crisis. That and kaboom make having one worth it.
Master Phruby
So the list of working games with the 5200 paddle are: Castle Crisis Super Breakout Kaboom! Any others?
Prosystemsearch
Pole position!!
Lynxpro
So the list of working games with the 5200 paddle are: Castle Crisis Super Breakout Kaboom! Any others? And these are with the 2600 Paddle POT, not the 2600 Driving Controller POT. A previous post said Space Invaders didn't work. That's a shame. I've heard Gyruss works and AtariAge Tempest. joystickjedi
Gyruss doesn't work with the Trakball so I don't think it would work with a paddle... I need to track down a ratty set of paddles and do some quick hacking.

Prosystemsearch
How about gyruss?? Why would it not work on a paddle just because it doesn't work with the trakball controller?
zylon
Gyruss doesn't work with the Trakball so I don't think it would work with a paddle... I need to track down a ratty set of paddles and do some quick hacking. While I didn't create this one, you could use 2600 keyboard control and a paddle with an adapter cord. The only modification to the paddle was I had to switch the pot wires to reverse. I used a cheap set of gemini paddles that had a broken case. zylon
Pole position!! You still would need something for the up/down shift. Then PP would work fine.
Master Phruby
For pole position, you would need to add wires from the buttons to the up/down wires. Right now, you can steer but not change gears. Sucks since you start in HI gear.
bohoki
i added the switch to my paddle so now i can play pole but honestly its not worth it i judge my controllers on if they are better and this is not but the games i can play obviously the super breakout kaboom gorf (if you dont mind not going up) others (playable but have increased difficulty space invaders (works but you have to really work the dial cause it just wants left and right inputs) mario brothers (same) moon patrol (need 2 buttons) galaxian gyruss (if you dont mind hanging around in the lower half) games you can play if you have the switch that shorts the y and common pole position (switch is high low) jungle hunt (leave switch up and just swim for your life) but these are just from my small pool of games i own i dont have a multicart or very many games
Master Phruby
How did you wire the high low switch?
bohoki
How did you wire the high low switch? its about the easiest thing you just need a switch and a resistor (i suggest a 1 meg ohm) i used a little toggle that goes in a hole you just wire the resistor from the center contact to another contact then solder the wire from the y pin to one and the pot common to the other so one position of the switch is all the way up and switch off is all the way down i'll draw up a schematic if its too hard to figure out my poor grammar

Charlie_
Didn't read through the whole thread again, don't know if it has been mentioned. Clowns and Balloons conversion by Classics is fantastic with the paddle.
