atarilovesyou
As a kid, I remember seeing an advertising kiosk for the Coleco, but it wasn't much like the ones you see on google pics. Those had actual arcade controllers, but the one I remember (at Canadian Tire, or possibly Sears) had the actual controllers on display. I remember being pretty bewildered by them as I wasn't sure you had to spin them, push them?...I really thought they were supposed to be spun. In any case, there was never any power hooked up to it but it was a pretty momentous video game occasion and one of my best memories from those days. As far as kiosks go, the last old school one I ever saw was for the Genesis...which was pretty cool as well. The Coleco kiosk also had the adverts on it for some great vapourware...and I think Mr Turtle was the one I kept staring at, imagining how great it must be! Has anybody seen one of these kiosks? A pic would make my day!
retroillucid
Humm.... maybe that's the one you saw?
NIAD
From the description, it sounds like the KIOSK that you saw was the Coleco made unit without the arcade style controller panel similar to the picture I posted and not like the CBS Electronics KIOSK pictured above by Retroillucid? It wouldn't make sense that the CBS KIOSK would have made it's way to Canada afterall.

atarilovesyou
From memory, it did have those info panels on the side, but no arcade controls. I'm sure somebody must have seen one back then, but I haven't had any luck on google yet
retroillucid
Must be this one then Actually, I want to make myself a CV display like this one
SiLic0ne t0aD
Wow.. thats a Sweet looking kiosk! Never saw that one before, I'll have to search around for more pictures with a better view and more details on that.. I wouldn't mind trying to build one myself someday also. It would be a lot of work, im sure it wouldn't be cheap either but would be very rewarding in the end.
Pixelboy
Must be this one then Actually, I want to make myself a CV display like this one Oh yeah, I'm sure the girlfriend would love to see that set up in the living room, and your landlord would love it even more... But the ones who will absolutely love it the most are the guys who print and mail the monthly bills at Hydro-Quebec!

Well, not before we get our house I've limited space with 2 arcades in the living room already , not counting the Mame cab in our bed room
SiLic0ne t0aD
Not to detour from the OP too much but I found a really neat page about a DIY ColecoVision kiosk last night while searching around on that subjuct.. <Here> I just wish there were "official" dimensions for it but never did see anything more from DoubleDown on his Official CV Kiosk that he posted about quite a few years ago (What a Score!) but overall it's very useful information so far and now the idea of building one someday is more feasible. What a cool project this could be .. maybe next year perhaps. At least I'd have enough room for it in my house anyway.. my ceilings are just over 8ft tall, so its doable. It would look awesome in my living room!

The official dimensions are in the the inner page of a Press Kit folder I reproduce, the ColecoVision marquee along with " The Arcade Quality Video Game System" Plus I did the kickplate with all the boxes, minus Football .... only have the logo I also started a plan to reproduce the Kiosk Planning to share all this when it will be completed
SiLic0ne t0aD
Very cool! Id be interested in a repro press kit at some point for sure. Curt did a great job with his kiosk, especially considering he just guessed at it from photos and standard coin op dimensions. The only thing DD revealed was that it was 6', 11 and 1/4" tall and about 4' wide... and around 350 lbs. Ouch!
