Kida0723
So I have an atari 5200 that I now have connected to a CRT tv that I just got (sony trinitron). I enjoy playing on that. Once in a while, my fiance will want to play a game with me but she likes to play on a bigger TV. I have an HDTV sitting about 6 feet from the CRT. My question is, that I could use a coax splitter to connect both at the same time, right? My second and most important question, is this safe? I dont want to fry anything. Bodyshots
It's fine. It won't harm your tv(s). However, I don't believe you. It's not for your fiancé. It's for you, isn't it. Be honest now.
7800
Yes, you can use a 2 way splitter. Don't buy Radio Shack crap though... get them from your local cable tech, better quality. Have him cut you a few jumpers too.
Tinman
Perfectly safe, but it may prove difficult to get a good picture.
fiddlepaddle
If the signal degrades too much after the splitter, you can insert a powered RF amplifier (10 to 20 bucks) which might improve it.
Charlie_
You need a coax A / B switch box. You don't need it going to two TV's at once, just one at a time. So the switch box is what you need. http://www.ebay.com/itm/us-seller-COAX-2-WAY-SWITCH-Y-ADAPTER-COAXIAL-SPLITTER-TV-ANTENNA-CABLE-BOX-HUB-/251527973267?pt=US_Video_Cables_Adapters&hash=item3a903c4993 Edited June 29, 2014 by Official Ninja
7800
I really don't think a 2 way splitter is going to degrade the picture quality, assuming everything is hooked up properly and your using quality equipment. We're talking -3.5 db on both TVs... not a big loss at all.

ArcadeJunkie
Personally, I am a big advocate of the rca mod.... the picture of my 5200 never looked so good on my 60" led!! Drooooool.....
