John_L
Color Baseball was the baseball game, it was good, and it played better with the deluxe joysticks too. Perhaps Dungeons of Daggorath was the 3D game...? There's also a PC port available online for download for free if interested in playing. Cynicaster
Digging up my old thread. Can anybody let me know if there are any good emulators for the CoCo 1? I did a quick search and it looks like it's mostly old stuff that might not run on Windows 7/8. How about MESS?
JamesD
M.E.S.S. does a pretty good job with CoCo emulation. It's one of the only emulators to get color artifacting right. It's a bit more awkward to setup and you'll want to download a frontend like MESSUI to make using it easier. Since it emulates most old computers setup is a bit more involved.VCC is good and easy to set up but it's artifacting emulation is just 4 color. Nebulon
There was another game he had that used pseudo-vector-style graphics (a la Battlezone), but I think it was set in outer space rather than in a tank. I imagine it would look corny today, but I remember being blown away back then by the 3D effect of it. Any idea what that game might be? Was it Varloc? Vector characters fighting on a floating plane? At first I was going to say Rommel 3D, but that one's a Battlezone clone (real vectors again). I suppose the other possibility is Silpheed. Doesn't this one work in Windows 7? http://www.classiccmp.org/cpmarchives/trs80/mirrors/www.discover-net.net/~dmkeil/coco/index.htm I've run this on XP SP2 and I think on Vista. I've yet to try it on 7, so I'm not totally sure. If not, I wonder what would happen if you ran it under DOSbox.
