ballyalley
Miner 2049'er? Finally, a game that I'm pretty good at playing. This round ends on July 17'th, right? Looks like I'll be hooking up my Atari 130XE to my "big screen" (27" CRT) for this round. I expect that since the pixels are bigger on that TV, then they'll be easier to land on and jump from. That sounds logical to me-- so it must be true.

I figure that's how McKong does so well at the platform games old school 14" CRT for me my biggest concern is getting my quickshots' fire button to be 100% reliable for this one! Surely the gaps will be bigger and Bounty Bob will have further to fall plus the radioactive waste will be massive! This round will run a few days over the two weeks as it's also a chance to catch-up on the recent rounds Have fun
McKong
I find it easier to play some platformers using the PC keyboard. That was definitely the case with Henry's house and electric maniac

roadrunner
Not sure what I'm doing on Miner, any tips?Miner 2059er, does the fire button do anything? I can't seem to jump.
McKong
Miner 2059er 7998 Made it onto the 5th round. It's not that bad, it's a bit annoying that you can't see the timer on the levels
+therealbountybob
Miner 2059er 7998 Made it onto the 5th round. It's not that bad, it's a bit annoying that you can't see the timer on the levels you could always change the code if I had my abbuc game working I'd do some improvements but I'm under serious pressure I think these BASIC bonus games are not that bad. Miner you have to go down the lift get some nuggets take them to the bank (push up) and there are various features, more to this than you might first think Miner 1059er very nice (positioning the jumps is key, the ladders block the jumps) Miner 2059er fun too (no jumping just leggit!) darthkur
159,910 I'm surprised that Bounty Bob Strikes Back isn't one of the bonus games. I was hoping it would be, actually.
jk40001
Excuse my silly question but any hints how to use those bloody elevators? Edited August 8, 2014 by jk40001
McKong
Just wait for the lifts to be green then stand in one and press the number on the keyboard for which lift you want to go to
adam242
Another childhood favorite... I'm still using the very cartridge that I got as a Christmas gift in '84. 33,915 points. A little rusty... I'm going to try to remember all my old patterns without resorting to a YouTube walk-through. NTSC this round. PAL would feel really wierd after 30 years of play. Well that would definitely be the death knell to my abbuc game Ramp Rage!! Very rusty first go on 2049'er 28,265 Jumped right into the radioactive waste Remember guys this round is also a Catch-up for Games 'G through to K' checkout those rounds for the details and post here. This round will close Saturday 23rd August 10am UK time to give everyone time to enjoy this great game [i'm adding some extra bonus challenges to the first post too]

+therealbountybob
159,910 That's a good score there darthkur... let me guess around Zone 3 Station 9!!! That's where I got to 157,750 great fun re-learing the screens, joystick is creaking and misfiring but there will be more to come p.s. Guys on Station 8 press the space bar to activate/deactivate the lift

+therealbountybob
Had a proper go on the BASIC bonus games: Miner - you beat the game by amassing over $7000 there is some skill and a some (bad!) luck to the game. More of an O'Rileys Mine than a Miner 2049er game but interesting to play nontheless. 1pt for completing the game. My score $8925 Miner 1049er - Looks like there are 5 screens so the game may end? I made it to screen 3, I'm thinking you might have to jump off mid ladder on some levels. Very nice game. If the jumping is too tricky for anyone to beat the first screen press break and type "179 PAUSE 3" without the quotes and press enter (replace the 3 with a 1 for just a little slower, or 5 for very slow). Then type "RUN" and hit enter. 1pt for highest score, 1pt for completing the game. My score 374 Miner 2059er - think there are 11 levels and the game will end giving a bonus for remaining lives. 1pt for highest score, 1pt for completing the game. My score 8,
CapitanClassic
For catch-up rounds 'G' (the only one I didn't compete in yet), What is the scoring for Grand Prix Simulator? I assume there is no catch-up scoring for the bonus games, Galaxian/Galactic Chase L1, No-Shot, one man, '*' Level, etc. Galaxian 1st orpheuswaking (n) 35,490 30*2nd Zylon (n) 27,450 293rd Gury (p) 25,960 28 Galactic Chase 1st therealbountybob (p) 23,330 30 2nd darthkur (n) 21,100 29*3rd JK40001 (p) 18,990 28 Grand Prix Simulator ???
