First Spear
My family got an Intv in 1979 IIRC, and the first game we got was (red box) Space Battle. After that was Armor Battle, and since we only had 2 games total (my mom thought us kids were too young to play the pack-in Poker & Blackjack), and Armor Battle was fun, we played the snot out of it. I think we overheated our first Intellivision with the continuous hours of play on Armor Battle. Anyway, it would be cool to see a kind of "Super Pro" edition with some add-ons to increase the replayability. 1. Add a pre-game-start option to make the tanks rotate slow/medium/fast. 2. Add "power ups" to let a tank drive faster on certain terrain. 3. Power up to make tank reload quicker. 4. Add optional computer-controlled "crazy infantry". A slow-running Running Man armed with a machine gun or LAW. One would run out of a building for n minutes and shoot in a random direction and then run off the screen. Machine gun does no damage (just distracting) but a LAW shell damages just like a tank shell would. Infantry could be killed by shooting or running them over. Since there are only 2 tanks moving on a screen at a time, maybe 2-3 infantry men could be added. They would not belong to either side, just add more randomness to the play since they shoot at both sides. 5. Visible mines already on the screen. Run over one and get damaged but not necessarily instadeath like the current invisible mines. They would influence player tactics, especially if they are random. Hmm, maybe "crazy infantry" could run out and drop them. 6. More building shapes. 7. Give water a flow so going upstream vs downstream would change tank driving speed. wolfy62
Great ideas! My problem with the original game was that the Tanks are so slow in driving and turning and everything. All the other things you mention would all be awesome upgrades for this game!
