Project 'Oz'

While browsing the official Atari 8-Bit FAQs I stumbled across the claim:

'Ray Kassar directed that the video game technology already under development as the "Oz" project would now form the basis for the development of a personal computer system.  The newly-redefined project become known as "Colleen" inside Atari.'

Are there any other sources like print-mags or books confirming the term 'Project Oz' ? I couldn't locate any information using Google or Webarchive. Also, the book 'Atari Inc' by Vendel and Goldberg doesn't mention 'Project Oz' (or I missed that), so I am wondering if it is actually a rumour or not.

I abandoned the claim myself some years ago after I too couldn't find where I originally got it from. All I can say is, I didn't make it up! I read it somewhere at some point.

 

The Atarimania copy of my FAQ list is very old and obsolete, I wish they'd just link to the current version.
