78affily
Hi, everyone, do u have any game that suits for the atmosphere on Halloween? I am looking for the most scary games to play at that night. So, do you mind list the games you think the most horrible here? Thank you very much. May you all have a good Halloween. Austin
What platforms are you interested in? Personally, playing a bunch of Castlevania games in October is pretty much a must for me.

Thank you. lol They are on NES, but a lot of other platforms too. Personally if you've never played them, I'd start with the original on the NES to get a feel for the gameplay style, then go to Super Castlevania IV on the SNES or Castlevania Bloodlines on the Sega Genesis to get the best of that gameplay style.
karokoenig
If you're into point&click adventures, you wanna try Sanitarium. That one is creepy.

CatPix
Silent Hill on PS1 and SH2/3 on PS2. Forbidden Siren, Project Zero, Kuon on PS2. Hellnight (PAL only unless you can enjoy Japanese, but you're emulating it, right?), Overblood (not soo scary, but interesting adventure/horror game), D*, Fear Effect 1 and 2, on PS1. Of course I won't name the unfamous Resident Evil series. Oh, well, seems I just did it Doctor Hauzer on 3DO (Japanese only, sadly, but you can ignore the text.) *Yes. D : And I can't forget to name the grand-father of all survival-horror games. Alone in the Dark (PC). Stick with the first one. BydoEmpire
I used to play Zombie Revenge on DC every Halloween. Not scary, but good fun. For scary, I don't know, Dead Space: Extraction (Wii) had its moments.

AtariBrian
If only there was a way to play Jeepers Creepers with an atari paddle ... it would be so awesome to play ! It's rough to play any game like that with a joystick of any kind . Is it possible to program a colecovision game that would use atari paddles ? genesisguy
Castlevanias I-III on the NES. Super Castlevania and Dracula X on the SNES. Bloodlines on the Genesis. Ghouls and Ghosts on the Genesis.
cimerians
If you want to play a scary game....try Silent Hill or Silent Hill 2. Any of the first four Resident Evil's (I prefer the old puzzle oriented Resident Evils). I usually throw on whatever I haven't played in a while. I used to replay the original PC version of Alone in the Dark every Halloween and I still replay a Resident Evil game from time to time. Castlevania is not really scary but they are nice games to play during Halloween.
BassGuitari
Trick Or Treat: Essential Halloween GamesThese are a few (though certainly not all) of my favorites. Lately I've been playing Castlevania II and Ghosts 'N' Goblins.

+frankodragon
There's the Splatterhouse series. There's also the translated Famicom game, Sweet Home (a precursor to Resident Evil). I don't know if Alien Brigade for Atari 7800 could fit in as a Halloween game but you could try that too playing in the dark.
Kyle22
Carnevil on MAME, but you need GOOD hardware to run it on to avoid sound break up. I7 quad, Win XP, good sound card, good video card. This is a tough one, but if you get it right, it's worth it. Make sure to get the full HD .chd image file.
