guitarmas
Too bad the seller sent it to be graded. Close to worthless IMHO.
toptenmaterial
Too bad the seller sent it to be graded. Close to worthless IMHO. Why, because it was opened?
guitarmas
Because it's super mario bros. And it's been VGA and the seller is going to actually lose money as compared to selling it without that crappy VGA case.

What's VGA, some sort of grading system like with coins? I should start doing that when I ebay all my dupes of Combat.
Shawn
In the NES world, VGA is praised like the messiah of double (and tripling) your money unfortunately. Many NES collectors only collect graded CIB and NIB games.

Shawn
So you find this unopened game and send it to some institution for grading, is that what it is? Yep pretty much. Any grades over 85 will pretty much assure you double the amount you would get (or more) vs ungraded.

But I take it that some folks (like us) don't really give a shit about that?

Crazy Climber
Its very hot in the Nintendo scene, never caught on with Atari. Im to poor to collect them but will admit I think they are kind of cool...
toptenmaterial
Its very hot in the Nintendo scene, never caught on with Atari. Im to poor to collect them but will admit I think they are kind of cool... Atari just seems so much more rugged. It brings images to my mind of sifting through milk crates full of carts in dimly lit attics.
Atari_Bill
VGA and the other grading services are the biggest fraud perpetuated on the collecting community. Send your stuff so they can slap a random number on it and seal it up. Please! I've never believed it to be a legitimate business, but some folks that just can't wait to throw money at items that have been "Professionally graded". I suppose I should be happy to see these folks parted with their money. On the other hand, maybe I'm a little jealous that I didn't come up with such a great scam!
Andre81
I clean every sealed game before I put it into a protector. I use a wetted tissue to clean the shrinkwrap and in most cases the tissue is dirty afterwards. I don't think they do this before they put those games in their plastic coffin. Shawn
Not to mention the likes of VGA, AFA,ect. have graded many, many re-seals and fakes and take no ownership for it. Have a look on google for AFA Star Wars Toy Tony Scam and you will see just a glimps into how bad it really is. Hundreds of graded fakes just from that one scammer. And the AFA is doing NOTHING. You can bet that VGA,ect would do the same as they are in bed together.
Andromeda Stardust
Here's what I think of sealed games. Frankly I don't see why Nintendo collectors go ape sh!t over these. And I am a Nintendo collector!
