Starblade Alpha for PS1 ... but not the Japanese import

I'm looking for Starblade Alpha for PS1 but definitely not the Japanese version, I specifically want the North American release. When I search eBay, the auctions tend to be almost all Japanese imports and any that claim to be US releases looks exactly the same in the photographs. Is there a good way to tell which is which?

 

I assumed the little label on the disc that says NTSC J or NTSC U/C would be my indicator but each game (except European PAL versions) have NTSC U/C stamped on them whether they are the import or the US one.

 

Advice? Anyone got pictures of both discs so I can tell the difference?

 

They all seem to say NTSC U/C on them.

 

For example here's a picture of one for sale claiming to be the Japanese import:

 

 

And here's one for sale that does not say it is Japanese and even states it is the 1996 release which I assume means US?
