UKRetrogamer
I have a follower on Twitter who is looking for software from UK-based Ti-99 developers Sceptre Software or Gamesware. As I didn't have a Ti-99 back in the day, I'm not familiar with these software houses. Does anyone here know of (or have copies of) any titles from either of these developers or other UK programmers? Retrospect
I've heard of Sceptre - I owned a TI99 back in the mid 80s and was often on the lookout for software ..... we got it most often mail order from magazines. As far as I know a LOT of these little software houses had something to do, in some way, with Stephen Shaw's "Stainless" publishing company. And right they were if they did ..... for Stephen Shaw recognised the shortage of TI software in the UK at the time and decided to actively do something about it and took on responsibility of distributing games from America AND helping small software houses sell TI games. His site (just google Stephen Shaw TI99 stainless and you will find his site! ) has lots of disk images to download, now these games are all from different authors/companies .... you MIGHT find what you're looking for on there.Lots of the disks are compilations, on these disks are games from UK, FRANCE, GERMANY, and many more countries. They are all mixed in together. Needle in a haystack, but nonetheless lots of fun.
am1933
Chances of finding original copies are slim to zero, If the companies advertised anywhere-it would probably have been in Home Computing Weekly(copies are available on archive.org for download), as Retrospect said, if you can't find it on Shaw web, you probably won't find it at all. TI-99er
Hi all - thanks to UK Retrogamer for posting this for me. I'm new to all this. I'm the guy that wrote the titles for Sceptre. They were distributed by Gamesware and advertised in many mags at the time including C&VG, HCW etc. The biggest seller was a three-parter called Sloopy's Christmas, there was also a number of games pack compilations as well. Sloopy's Christmas was also ported to the Memotech MTX. I've got a copy of the MTX version but would love to locate a copy for the TI purely for nostalgia. Any help massively appreciated. Best, Gary @Mac_Gaz

UKRetrogamer
Another advert I've turned up. Sorry it's not very clear, the original file appears to be badly scanned. Titles mentioned include: Sloopy's Christmas Hangover, Capture and Dodge Grid Race Record File, Earth Defend and River Run Musiload
TI-99er
Yes, most of those are all mine (2 on the left and the one in the middle). Brings back memories does that. Huge thanks. Gary

TI-99er
Just wondering if anyone had any luck in finding copies of my games? I noticed that a couple had turned up in the compiled section. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to download/view these? cheers Gary

+Schmitzi
There are some errors in the code, I think this is due to the scan, whenever this happened. imho, transmitting code errors while digitizing from old scans in the chain is regular, yes likely. xXx PS: Easily found with @kl99 ´s tool Web99 ? TI-99er
Looks like there has been a few changes made over the years. Original text was all English. it brings back some great memories. Much appreciated. I only wish I could run it up. Gary

I noticed that a couple had turned up in the compiled section. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to download/view these? Hello Gary! I haven't found any of the original copies on cassette tape but the games that also have been compiled by @tmop69 were part of my dumps. I also remember something I sent in attachment to your direct email when we exchanged a few messages in 2018. anyway you can find some of your games here: (the .ZIP that you can find scrolling down the page will include: .dsk - FIAD - .Wav and the .BIN if it has been compiled) Adventure Page Hangover Page Miss Muffet Page Earth Invade Page Of course, if you will be able to fix the Sloopy's Christmas as it was in the original English version, I will be happy to add it too Edited December 19, 2021 by ti99iuc
TI-99er
Wow. Huge thanks for sending me those links. I think I’ll have to dig out the old 99 and fire it up. Happy Christmas and Best Regards Gary
