TI Calc Cartridge - getting past the main screen

Looks like XB, with fewer banks.

 

I know Michael wants to establish ZIPs for verified images, but I still like RPKs, so here it is from the 3 and G files:

Yes, it is quite similar, but the XB switching is 4K (6000) + 2*4K (7000). This scheme more resembles the MBX scheme, which, however, uses a single mapper address 6FFE. Thus I had to add a new cartridge type. I am curious whether there are more of these cartridges around.

You still need the new MAME release; the RPK will not work with the current MAME.

Hmm, not sure. The RPK, just like with the XB RPK, mirrors the common ROM areas. The question is if the bank switch routines will work, but I think they do, as upper bits are ignored.

This RPK stops after you press space on the title screen. It will in fact not work because you declared it "standard", which means in MAME that this has no bank switching but up to 5 GROMs and one 8K ROM. Any write operation is ignored.

 

Alternatively, you could declare it "paged16k", but this only allows for two 8K pages.

 

You can safely believe me, I implemented the types.

If you insist on using an RPK, here is my version (still requiring the new MAME release, but will work). It contains the verified ROMs.

OK, thanks for clearing up the bank switching. I was mixing up "paged378" and "standard".

 

But still, the (inverted) TICALC_3.BIN and TICALC_G.BIN are the required files for the FinalGROM 99 or any other carts with adaptive switching.
